Color Analysis
As someone who helps people see the beauty and potential in homes, it felt fitting to finally invest in seeing the beauty and potential in myself.
My friend Baille and I recently met with Heather Hope, a personal stylist with House of Colour Denver, for a full color analysis session—and it completely changed how I see my wardrobe. From learning the tones that actually flatter to understanding why certain outfits never felt quite right, this experience was a reset I didn’t know I needed.
If you’ve ever stood in front of your closet feeling frustrated, convinced you “just have nothing to wear,” you’re not alone. The truth? The problem might not be your style—it might be your colors.
Color analysis is a science-based process that helps you discover which hues harmonize with your natural skin tone, eyes, and hair. When you’re wearing the colors that complement you best, you instantly look fresher, brighter, and more confident—without changing a single thing about your body or personality.
Heather guided us through a detailed process rooted in over four decades of color science and fashion psychology. Using a series of color drapes, she compared how different tones interacted with my skin, eyes, and hair—revealing which shades enhanced my features and which ones made me look tired or washed out.
We didn’t stop there. Heather also introduced me to makeup shades tailored to my coloring and showed me how a cohesive palette can simplify shopping, styling, and even packing for trips. It’s not about having more clothes—it’s about having the right ones.
I left my session knowing exactly what makes me glow. I’m a Blue Autumn, which means my best colors are warm, rich, and deep—with a cool undertone twist. Think teal, cinnamon, moss, bronze, and deep sage. These are the hues that bring harmony to my natural coloring—and, as it turns out, they align beautifully with my brand aesthetic, too.
Suddenly, so much made sense. The clothes I loved on the hanger but never felt right wearing? They were simply the wrong palette. Now, I have clarity and confidence when choosing what to wear—and my closet finally feels like me.
Step inside my color analysis session with Heather Hope of House of Colour Denver and see what it’s really like to discover your season. From the moment those color drapes went up to the moment I found out I’m a Blue Autumn, this experience completely changed how I see my wardrobe—and myself.
Watch to learn how color science meets personal style, why this process is so empowering, and how it can help you fall in love with your own closet again.
What I love most about this experience is that it isn’t about following fashion rules. It’s about confidence. It’s about simplifying your mornings, spending less, and showing up as your most authentic self.
Heather’s approach is rooted in empowerment. As she puts it, the goal is to transform confusion into clarity and insecurity into confidence. And after experiencing it firsthand, I can promise—it works.
