When the list was announced, I received several messages asking the same question: What exactly does the 5280 Top Real Estate Producer award mean?
It’s a great question, and the answer is actually pretty interesting. The award is well known in Colorado real estate, but many people outside the industry are not familiar with how agents qualify or what the different production levels represent.
So I thought I would share a little behind the scenes look at what the 5280 top real estate producer recognition means and why it matters.
Each year, 5280 Magazine publishes a list of top real estate professionals across the Denver metro area and surrounding communities. The list recognizes agents who have achieved a high level of production and professionalism within the industry.
Agents cannot simply apply and be added to the list. The recognition is based on verified production numbers, which measure the total volume of real estate transactions an agent completes within a calendar year.
Because of the strict production thresholds, only a portion of agents in the region qualify for the list each year.
For buyers and sellers, the list offers a way to identify experienced agents who consistently help clients navigate the real estate process.
The 5280 top real estate producer recognition is based on sales volume. Agents must meet specific production benchmarks in order to qualify.
The 5280 Top Real Estate Producer award recognizes agents and teams based on verified annual sales volume.
According to 5280 Magazine, agents are grouped into four categories:
Within each category, there are two tiers that represent different production levels:
These tiers reflect different levels of annual sales volume within each category.
For individual agents, the typical thresholds are:
The list is compiled based on verified sales numbers submitted by brokerages. Agents must also hold an active Colorado real estate license in good standing to qualify.
The Black Diamond level represents one of the highest production categories on the list.
Agents at this level have closed a significant amount of real estate volume within the year. Reaching this category reflects not only sales activity, but also the ability to guide many different clients through complex real estate decisions.
Every transaction is unique. Some involve first time buyers navigating the process for the first time. Others involve relocation, estate sales, downsizing, or competitive multiple offer situations.
Behind every number on the list is a story, a family, and a major life transition.
That’s why this recognition means so much to me.
Awards are meaningful, but what matters most to me is the trust that clients place in me during one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
Most of my business comes from referrals and past clients. That means the majority of people I work with have been referred by someone who trusted me with their own home purchase or sale.
That kind of trust is incredibly meaningful.
It also reflects something I believe strongly about real estate. Success in this business is not just about numbers. It is about relationships, guidance, and helping people feel confident in their decisions.
My goal has always been to provide thoughtful advice, clear communication, and steady support throughout the process.
Before I became a real estate agent, I spent 14 years working as a labor and delivery nurse.
That experience shaped the way I approach my work today. Labor and delivery is full of emotional moments, important decisions, and situations that do not always go exactly as planned.
Real estate can be very similar.
Buying or selling a home is one of the most significant financial and emotional decisions many people make. My role is to guide clients through that process with care, clarity, and a calm perspective when things feel uncertain.
Helping people through big life transitions has always been part of who I am.
Being named a 5280 top real estate producer is truly an honor, but the recognition reflects something bigger than any one person.
It reflects the incredible clients, friends, and community members who trust me with their referrals and real estate decisions.
To everyone who has trusted me to help buy or sell a home, thank you.
Your support is the reason this recognition is possible, and I feel grateful every day to do this work in such an amazing community.
If you ever have questions about the market, your home’s value, or the process of buying or selling, I’m always happy to help.
