These might seem small, but trust me—they matter. Don’t Make these 5 Common Home Selling Mistakes

1. Personal Photos

Family photos and personal items make it harder for buyers to picture themselves in the home. You want them imagining their story here—not yours.

2. Prescription Medications

This one’s about safety. Always store medications securely or take them with you during showings. You never know who’s walking through your home.

3. Valuables or Important Documents

Jewelry, passports, checkbooks—anything that’s hard to replace should be locked away or removed entirely. Don’t take chances.

4. Pet Supplies

Even if your pets are sweet as can be, not every buyer is a pet person. Litter boxes, food bowls, crates—they’re distracting and can create odors or a sense of clutter.

5. Strong Scents (Good or Bad)

That plugin air freshener you love? It might be overwhelming to buyers. And strong food, smoke, or pet odors? Definitely a no. Aim for clean, neutral, and fresh.
